1. Delete your account in the app
If you have access to your MoodM8 account, you can request account deletion directly in the app:
- Open MoodM8.
- Go to Profile.
- Select Delete Account.
- Enter your password to confirm the deletion request.
In-app account deletion starts immediately after password confirmation. Active-service account data, profile data, consent records, onboarding and personalization answers, mood logs, tasks, habits/activity records, chat conversations, chat messages, support tickets stored in our app database, and account data associated with the account are deleted from the active MoodM8 service.
2. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, you can request account and data deletion by email: privacy@moodm8.com.
Please include:
- the email address connected to your MoodM8 account;
- your MoodM8 username, if you remember it;
- a clear statement that you want your MoodM8 account and associated app data deleted.
We will verify that the request comes from the account owner before deletion. Verification may include replying from the account email address or completing another reasonable ownership check. We will not delete an account from an unverified third-party request.
3. What data will be deleted
When your account is deleted, MoodM8 deletes active-service data associated with your account, including:
- account profile data;
- consent and account status records;
- onboarding and personalization data;
- tasks, mood logs, habit/activity records and calendar-related app data;
- support tickets stored in our app database and associated with your account;
- chat conversations, chat messages and related app data.
The Play-distributed MoodM8 app currently does not support user file, photo or document uploads. If upload support is added in a future build, this Data Deletion page, our Privacy Policy, our Google Play Data Safety declarations and deletion/export behavior will be updated before release.
4. What may be retained temporarily
Active-service account data is deleted when account deletion is completed. Deidentified AI usage metadata, infrastructure logs, security logs, enabled Sentry/error reporting events, cache entries, support mailbox copies and backups may persist for up to 30 days after deletion because of backup rotation, operational security, abuse prevention, debugging, cost monitoring and incident investigation needs. Backup deletion is not immediate; deleted data expires from backups through normal backup rotation.
We may retain limited records for longer only when required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or enforcement of our terms. Such retained records are limited to what is necessary for that purpose.
5. Processing time
In-app deletion is processed immediately for the active MoodM8 service after password confirmation. Email requests are reviewed and verified before processing. We aim to acknowledge email deletion requests within 7 days and complete verified requests within 30 days. If additional time is required, we will let you know where required by applicable law.
6. Canceling deletion
If you requested deletion by mistake, contact us as soon as possible at privacy@moodm8.com. We may not be able to cancel a deletion request once processing has started.
